The Claims Department is designed to provide Members with services of the highest quality, and to assist actively and essentially towards the resolution of problems promptly, as soon as they arise.
The procedures followed are characterized by transparency, clarity and effectiveness. In real terms, these procedures are translated as follows:
- 24hours line of communication for Members in need of Association's intervention
- Worldwide network of surveyors and Law offices, with great experience in H&M matters, readily available to serve our Members even in the most remote ports.
- Worldwide network of Tug Operators ready to assist our vessels/Members when in need.
- Letter of undertaking (as the case may be) for cases of collisions or salvages.
- Reduction in the time needed for the settlement of a valid claim.
- Full automation with sole purpose the identification of the most likely cause of losses, by way of predicting and preventing.
The department is governed by English Law and Practice that have been tried during the passage of marine insurance annals. The Department's staff is kept up to date with all the developments through a considerable bibliography. All the above, are aiming to the best possible service to our Members during their most difficult hour.
